Since we are so close to the Norwegian border it´s close to visit our neighbour country Norway

and it´s nice capitaltown OSLO. Just  1½h carride and you are here.

Go to museum, shop on Karl Johan street or why not just buy a icecream on Aker Brygga and watching the people in the sun.

There are always things to do in Oslo.

Just 20minutes from the cottage in car you are in Charlottenberg.
Looks small with it´s 3000 people but here is paradise for the Noregian people who come and buy meet and alcohol.

Here is always lot of people and good atmosphere. Charlottenberg is worth a visit!
Since 2007 they opened a big purchase centers and lots of stores for all interests! [link]
(if you don´t want to go too far for food there is a smaller KONSUM store who has the most necassary for the vacation only 5minutes from the cottage)

What about children? There is a camping on the other side of lake. Lot´s of swedes but also Norwegian and german / dutch tourists. Here are nice bathing possibilities. Walk into the water or dive in from the bridge.

Are you golfplayer? There are three golfcourses with good distance.. Arvika Golfcourse (40minutes. 18hole) ,
EDA GK (25minutes 18hole) and Karlstad Golfklubb (1h away, 18hole)

In Arvika (14 000pople) just 40minutes from Skillingmark you´ll find Wermland second biggest municipality with over 120stores in the centrum, such as InterSport - McDonalds & Vero Moda. Information bureau will tell you what is up in town.
